UVA Enters Postseason Play As The Unanimous Associated Press No. 1

Virginia men’s basketball began the 2017/2018 season unranked in the Associated Press Top 25. Thirty games later, the Cavaliers conclude regular season play as the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation.

Following last week’s amazing comeback victory at Louisville and 62-57 home win over Notre Dame, Virginia (28-2, 17-1 in the ACC) received all 65 first-place votes in this latest AP Top 25. UVA has held the top spot on this list the final four weeks of the regular season.

Villanova, Xavier, Michigan State, Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan, Cincinnati, Kansas, and Purdue round out the AP’s Top 10. ACC programs North Carolina (No. 12), Clemson (No. 19), and Miami (No. 24) cracked the Top 25, while Virginia Tech and NC State received votes.
