Virginia Women Advance In NCAA Tournament, Will Face Staley-Led South Carolina

The University of Virginia women’s basketball team advanced to the 2nd Round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament with a 68-62 win over No. 7 seed California. The victory is the Cavaliers’ first in the NCAA Tournament since 2009. UVA is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2010.

Up next for head coach Joanne Boyle and company is a 2nd Round matchup with South Carolina, which of course is guided by Virginia legend Dawn Staley. The Hoos (19-13), the No. 10 seed in the Albany Region, face the No. 2 seed Gamecocks in Columbia, South Carolina on Sunday, March 18 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
