Malcolm Brogdon’s Big Basket Helps Milwaukee Even Series With Boston

With the Milwaukee Bucks trailing the Boston Celtics by 1 point in the final minute of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, former Virginia guard Malcolm Brogdon splashed through a 3-pointer to give his team a 2-point edge with 33.5 seconds remaining.

With a win on Sunday, the East No. 2 seed Celtics could have taken a 3-1 lead over the No. 7 Bucks in the Best-of-Seven series. Instead, the series heads back to Boston tied at two games apiece.

Following Brogdon’s critical 3, Celtics forward Al Horford tied the game at 102 with two free throws. With 5.1 seconds left, though, Giannis Antetokounmpo tipped in a missed left-handed runner by Brogdon to give the Bucks a 104-102 advantage. Boston’s game-tying attempt was off the mark.

The Celtics next host the Bucks in Boston on Tuesday, April 24. The game will be televised by NBATV at 7 p.m. EST.

Two other former Hoos are competing in the NBA Playoffs. Forward Mike Scott scored 4 points in 15 minutes as the No. 8 seed Washington Wizards evened its series with the No. 1 seed Toronto Raptors with a 106-98 win on Sunday. It was lowest offensive output of the playoffs for Scott, who scored 14 points in Game 1, 20 points in Game 2 and 12 points in Game 3.

This series heads back to Toronto for Game 5 on Wednesday, April 25. NBATV will also televise this game, which also takes place at 7 p.m. EST.

On Tuesday, April 24, the Philadelphia 76ers will have an opportunity to close out its series with the Miami Heat. The Sixers hold a 3-1 lead as the series heads back to Philly.

Former UVA standout Justin Anderson played just two minutes combined in Philadelphia’s first two playoff games, which included a home loss to the Miami Heat in Game 2. The 6’6”, 230-pound guard has played 9 minutes in each of the past two games, however, helping his team primarily on the defensive end.

TNT will televise Game 5, which tips at 8 p.m. EST.
