In-State Offensive Tackle Brody Meadows Commits To Virginia

Brody Meadows is staying home.

Graham High School’s (Bluefield, VA) star offensive lineman has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Virginia. UVA, which was the first school to offer the 6’7”, 300-pound rising senior, secures the pledge over Arizona State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Purdue and West Virginia, among others.

Meadows becomes the eighth commitment in Virginia football’s class of 2022. He is UVA’s first offensive line commit in the class and the second prospect with at least one 4-star rating. Rivals ranks Meadows as a 4-star prospect, the No. 35 offensive tackle in his class in the nation, and the No. 12 overall rising senior in the state. 247Sports ranks the Graham standout as a 3-star recruit, the No. 38 offensive tackle in his class in the nation, and the No. 15 rising senior in Virginia.

Meadows, who calls Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive line coach Garett Tujague as “the best of the best,” announces his decision less than a week after he was in Charlottesville on an official visit.

“It was great,” Meadows said of his official visit at UVA. “[UVA is] a family-oriented team with strong work ethic and development. Academics are just as important as athletics! The coaches strongly encourage their players to not only be great athletes but to be good men with good morals and upstanding character. These things are all very important to me. While I love football, academics also play a very important role in continuing my education for life after football. I also was very impressed by the coaching staff’s motto that everything is earned not given. The bar is always raised for the players’ development to continuously become better.”

As a freshman in 2018, Meadows helped Graham capture a state championship. named him a Freshman All-American for his performance. As a junior this season, Meadows helped the G-Men to an undefeated record in five regular season games before Graham dropped its playoff opener.

Meadows is being recruited by UVA as an offensive lineman but also sees action on the defensive line for the G-Men.

Excellent in the classroom, Meadows reports a 3.8 GPA.
