Commitments From OL Prospects McKale Boley, Noah DeMeritt Close Out Big Monday For Virginia Football

As it turns out, Big Monday just isn’t for college basketball. It’s a fitting term for Virginia football recruiting today.

Terrell Jones, a 6’5”, 255-pound defensive lineman, announced his verbal commitment to UVA Monday morning. 6’6”, 295-pound offensive lineman McKale Boley and 6’5”, 340-pound offensive lineman Noah DeMeritt revealed their commitments to the Hoos Monday evening.

Boley, a product of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, picks the Hoos after decommitting from Colorado last November. He also considered scholarship offers from Akron, Florida International, Tulane and others. Being around new UVA head coach Tony Elliott and the new coaching staff during this past weekend’s official visit sealed Boley’s final decision.

“The coaches played a big role in my commitment,” he said. “I loved their energy and passion and I think that they have a great plan for the future.”

An intriguing prospect, Boley, whose father, Michael, played at Southern Miss and in the NFL, only played one season on the offensive line. It was his senior season, and he went on to earn all-area honors and a 247Sports 3-star ranking for his performance at left tackle. He played soccer from age six through his junior year of high school, but football became his main athletic focus beginning his sophomore year.

Hours after Boley announced his commitment, Camden County (Kingsland, GA) senior standout Noah DeMeritt tweeted his pledge.

DeMeritt, who claimed scholarship offers from Georgia Tech and Kentucky ahead of his junior season, is a Rivals.com 3-star prospect and 2021 All-Region 1-7A first-team selection.

Virginia is on a major recruiting roll the past four days, landing four high school senior pledges as well as graduate transfer offensive lineman Mac Hollensteiner. Three of the four high school commits are offensive line recruits, while Jones is projected as a defensive lineman. UVA now boasts 13 recruits in its 2022 Class, nine of whom signed during the Early Signing Period last month.
