Virginia Women’s Basketball Schedule Released

The Virginia women’s basketball team’s schedule features a challenging mix of ACC and non-conference games this season. The ACC released the schedule Thursday.

In the first week of the season, the Cavaliers face two SEC opponents. They open the campaign at Mississippi State, who made a run to the National Championship Game last season, on Friday, Nov. 10. After the home opener on Sunday, Nov. 12, the Hoos host Georgia on Thursday, Nov. 16.

In addition to the trip to MSU, Virginia also travels to face Dayton (Sunday, Nov. 19) and Rutgers (Monday, Dec. 4) in non-conference games. Other contests outside the ACC include neutral site games with Ohio and Indiana at the West Palm Invitational in Florida on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 17 and 18.

Other games at the John Paul Jones Arena before ACC begins include former league foe Maryland, who the Hoos play in the ACC-Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 29. They also host Harvard and Duquesne in the Cavalier Classic on Saturday and Sunday Nov. 25 and 26 as part of Thanksgiving weekend. Hampton (Tuesday, Nov. 21), UNC Greensboro (Saturday, Dec. 2), and Manhattan (Thursday, Dec. 21) all play in Charlottesville as well.

The ACC slate for Virginia includes home-and-home contests with Virginia Tech and Louisville. UVA takes on NC State, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Wake Forest on the road only. The Wahoos host Pitt, Syracuse, Clemson, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Miami for home games only.
