On the gridiron, Woodberry Forest (VA) rising senior Terrell Jana has impressed on both sides of the ball. Playing wide receiver and cornerback for the Tigers last season, the University of Virginia commitment totaled 62 catches for 1,082 yards and 13 touchdowns along with 10 pass deflections and five interceptions. UVA’s coaches “seemed to like my versatility, playing both DB and WR,” he wrote in a Twitter interview with TheSabre.

“They also liked my character, which I have my parents to thank for,” Jana added.

The University of Virginia edged out Maryland, among others, for the 6’1”, 185-pound prospect, who will join Woodberry Forest teammates/classmates Lindell Stone (quarterback) and John Kirven (defensive end) in Charlottesville next summer. Jana has potential on both sides of the ball, but the likely starting spot for him appears to be in the secondary.

“[UVA defensive backs coach Nick] Howell likes me at corner. He has mentioned me working at nickel or even safety if need be,” wrote Jana, who believes he can be “most successful” at cornerback.
