The Virginia football team dropped its first game of the season with a loss to Maryland. Within that old rivalry matchup, the UVA defense still showed some positive signs while the offense struggled to put points on the board. Has tackling been the key for the defense? Is this a feast or famine offense? At 2-1, these are some of the questions facing the Cavaliers entering Week 4.
That sets the stage for a road trip to Coastal Carolina for what looks like an important game in year three under Tony Elliott. The two programs will meet for the first time at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Conway, South Carolina. The Chanticleers enter the game at 3-0 with a large crowd expected and the Hoos expect a big challenge to be on tap.
While football prepares for that contest, the UVA men’s basketball team eyes the start of its season. The annual Blue-White Scrimmage is just around the corner on Oct. 5 and the season follows a month later. The Hoos have a lot of new faces expected to contribute this season and that makes for an intriguing preseason.
