TheSabre.com’s Fan Friday: A Little Nostalgia, A Little What’s Next

As Virginia wrapped up exams and the spring semester from afar, UVA fans continued to navigate life without sports during the coronavirus pandemic. Normally after exams, Wahoo supporters get to see baseball, tennis, lacrosse, rowing, track and field, golf, and softball try to make a push for the postseason. This year, fans remain focused on what’s ahead and what’s behind with no teams to cheer for in the present.

For what’s on Cavalier fans’ minds in the future, there were some interesting threads this week. On the men’s basketball board, for example, poster Wahoo2000 asked a simple poll question: Will [Casey] Morsell make more than 33.3% of his 3-point attempts next year? That set off a chain of responses that you can read here, with most leaning toward Morsell improving his percentage but not quite that much.

Another post about the future came from the tennis board where poster roncville shared a post from a walk around Boar’s Head. Construction is underway for UVA’s new outdoor courts there so the post provided a look at the progress. Check it out.

Virginia Director of Tennis Andres Pedroso also shared a social media update late last month from the site. Here you go!

There’s also been some nostalgia on the boards this week. A few topics that popped up include the UVA-UNC 1996 football game, the best high school basketball player you ever saw in person, and favorite broadcast teams of all time. Jump into those threads to daydream a little or just watch the next video before diving into the rest of TheSabre.com’s Fan Friday.

While we’re on the nostalgia train, here’s a photo of The Majik Man Don Majkowski. UVA recognized him at a football game last fall.
