TheSabre.com’s Fan Friday: VMI Replacement Candidates

The Virginia football team is in search of a new opening week opponent. After losing the previously scheduled Georgia game to conference-level decisions, UVA had VMI lined up on the ACC’s revised model but the Keydets have followed the Southern Conference’s decision to postpone football this fall. The changes are part of ongoing shifts due to the coronavirus pandemic.

From TheSabre.com’s standpoint, that means the traditional countdown clock that sits atop the football message board is still missing even though the season is theoretically less than a month away. For fans, the latest schedule switch means some time to try to figure out who the Hoos can play now for the opener. It should be interesting to see if the Wahoos find a new opponent and if the ACC stays the course as other conferences continue to cancel or postpone fall sports. In the meantime, here’s the rest of TheSabre.com’s Fan Friday feature!
