They have a 6' 9" guy who starts and a 6' 10" guy off the bench, I think
I watched about half their game against Vermont. The long guys aren't particularly muscular, though. They're not skinny or anything. Just about average size.
Maura is interesting to watch. He's listed at 140 lbs., but the announcers said they thought it was more like 130. He tries to penetrate and kick, and had some limited success against Vermont doing that. As noted, he's also a good 3-point shooter.
Lyles comes from VCU, and the announcers were saying the UMBC coaches feel he's the best player ever to play for the Retrievers (given Maura's size, I tend to think of them as the "Terriers"). He's solid, and it good on open shots.
Overall, I doubt they've seen anything like our defense, but the matchups are intriguing. Maura is a very good defender and steals a lot of balls off the dribble, but he's an on-ball defender, which would match him up against 6' 5" Jerome. I can't wait to see how that works out for both sides.
I didn't seen anything about their interior game that's concerning, but like all three-point-shooting teams, they could be dangerous. Still, I'm not sweating.
