Yes to all of this, for two reasons:


First, why pay for something now that you won't use for three years? As NV said, there is a not insignificant chance that you won't even have the car then.

Also, you will be buying coverage for miles 36,000 to 125,000... these should be very low failure miles. Google bathtub curve... basically failures occur early due to faulty manufacture or assembly, or late when they wear out. These days 125,000 miles is not much. Sure, there is always a chance that you have an expensive failure then but insurance companies are like Vegas... they make money because the odds are in their favor.
