True, true ... but here's an exception. I bought a used Subaru, had a year

left on the original warranty, went ahead & got the extended warranty.

I was on the interstate, car in front of me ran over a big piece of metal, I couldn't avoid it, it ruined one of my tires. I had fairly new tires (10,000 miles), but was told I needed to replace all 4, or it would mess up my all wheel drive, etc., & void my warranty. Tires weren't included in the new car warranty, but were in the extended - I got 4 new ones for free, plus three 10,000 mile tires in the garage.
