I doubt there are many high level tennis players who have spent thousands

training, traveling and paying coaches to become top players that are 'needy", but maybe the BU and WF players are. I thought BU and WF were giving so called 'academic' schollies, not need based ones like UVA once did in baseball IMO Any.scholarship help should count against the NCAA athletic scholarship limits Otherwise there really are no limits if a school just calls them something else, knowing that the NCAA does not check what they are doing.

I recall that when we were winning those Natties, that many on non UVA tennis boards claimed we were cheating by giving academic schollies to tennis players to get around the 4.5 men's schollie tennis limit. Certainly none or almost none of our tennis players would have been eligible for need based schollies under Access UVA. I was surprised that we once had a starting Outfield with all three covered by Access UVA. Becoming a really good baseball player is very expensive with travel ball, camps, and coaching costs factored in, If they were needy they probably could not or would not have paid for those things. I recall that the SEC baseball schools once claimed that Vanderbilt was cheating big time in baseball, by giving schollies way over the baseball limits.
