Out of 22 main positions, each and every year Notre Dame has maybe 5

that would start at OSU. Its been like this for 20+ years. Notre Dame hasn't won a big bowl game since the BCS was initiated - you really have to go back to the mid 90's when they were truly great, and even then OSU handed their rears to them in back to back years.

It is simply too much of a recruiting difference. OSU gets 4-5 stars at every position and Notre Dame gets who it gets. Every now and then ND has a big recruiting win, like Brady Quinn from Columbus but even that wasn't a shock since he was a lifelong ND fan. Other than that do you really think Ian Book would be at OSU, or that Dwayne Haskins would consider ND.

ND simply hasn't been great in a long, long time. This year they were sort of good but still overranked at the end of the year.
