I posted a similar opinion below that with BN in our top 3 we may be almost

as good talent wise as in 2017, but I do not follow the other top teams enough to know how we stack up against them this year. WF is loaded again and deserves the #1 ranking. We play WF at BHSC on Feb 8 and if we win (IMO very unlikely)or at least play them close, then we should all get more optimistic

What this year's team seems to lack is a clear national Top 5 level player at #1, unless CS improves considerably and a top 10 level player at #2 unless BN is that good. The 2017 team had 3 veterans all with top 10 level ability. They were all better than CS was last year. That 2017 team also had JCA at4/5) and HW at 6, both of whom won almost every match. It looks like HW will play 2 or 3, but can he win consistently at that level this year, after playing mostly at 6 in his career? Only time will tell. If we make the NTI field in Chicago most likely as the #15 or #16 seed, we will learn a whole lot about how good this year's team is, because with the back draw we will play at least 3 very good teams.
