after getting in from a meeting. For the most part, I was impressed by the intensity of the play, and the fact that the (Hoos) players understood their role in the offense. The defense was better in the second half, I thought, giving the Hoakies fewer good shots.
I noticed that early in the 1st half, VT was subbing a lot while the Hoos were going with few subs. Only one player seemed lost in the offensive flow, and she wasn't in the game for long. She's a good shooter, so I hope that her understanding of the game improves with more experience. Having only 9 TOs in the game was good, but VT didn't really press on D, so that helped keep TOs down.
My two favorite plays of the game were (1) the fast break with a long bullet pass from Toussaint to either Caldwell or Tinsley for a layup. A beautiful play. (2) Jablonowski's steal and drive the length of the court for a layup.
