Sidenote in this- SC actually finished the #5 ranked defense against

ISO PPP+ (S&P measure of defending explosiveness) while finishing only #62 in overall defense. Virginia's offense finished #60 overall, but #102 in explosiveness. So the SC D vs. UVa O matchup kind of played out how the teams performed over the course of the season in that sense- no "big plays" (two longest were a 19 yd run for Perkins and 19 yd catch for Dubois), just efficient offense for UVa, the achilles heel of SC's seemingly bend-don't-break defense.

Would be curious to know if that had any role in game prep going in, and the extent to which UVa's weak explosiveness over the season is intentional strategy vs. just not being good at making those plays.

Regardless, SC offense 2/13 on 3rd down was the stat of the game.
