Call me old school, but, absent any "abuse", in college it shouldn't be any


of the parents' damn business.

I may be inferring too much from your post or the UNC parent's comments, but it sounds just like an extension of the club sport parent in middle and high school. They are adults in college now ... let your kids worry (or not) about it. Go to the meets that you can easily get to, and the occasional one further away, and ask your kids "how's swimming going" and leave it at that. If the kid wants to reach out to the parent and ask advice or vent or whatever, then absolutely be a parent and listen, etc. But stop obsessing about every damn aspect of your adult children's lives. If they say they are happy or content or whatever and are not showing signs of abuse, etc., leave it be.

Sorry for getting up on the soap box and I really do apologize WahooFla if I've misunderstood.
