Medical redshirt rule

Rule says the injury must happen in the first half of the season and the athlete can't have played in more than 30% of the scheduled games. Fe's injury happened in the first half of the season and she has only played in 7 games. Thirty percent of a 29 game season would allow her to play in 8.7 games (don't know if they would round that up to 9.) She did play two games in the second half of the season.

I don't know how the rule applies to individuals who are injured in the first half of the season and attempt to come back but the injury persists. You would hope that the rule might accommodate situations like that but I don't know that it does. It's a shame if she is done for the season and loses a season of eligibility when she was only able to play in 7 games.
