Here's a hot take: any "resting" probably had more to do with ACC rosters

Than beating UVA. NC State matches up very well vs UVA in a dual setting on the women's side. NCSU's men's team didn't need to rest to crush us...they're way way better.

In general I don't understand the need to diminish the opponent via the claim of resting when the difference in relative talent levels is this clear on the men's side, and this close on the women's. If they were resting, does anyone think NCSU men won't annihilate the ACC at the conference meet? That the women won't challenge for the win? This isn't the 80s anymore, you don't just train by doing insane yardage and swimming pretty slow in duals until taper time.

UVA didn't swim particularly fast, and got smoked by very talented teams. I don't know if there is much else to take from it as outside observers.
