That's not affirmative action!
It's giving the players who come through the US system of AAU and high school basketball the opportunity to achieve the highest level. That also gives them an opportunity to be a role model for their former teams and high school teammates. It also breaks through the glass ceiling that women who want a career in BB find now. What does a foreign player give us? An older player who has had opportunities to compete within their 'amateur' system that allows them to compete in leagues with pro players. Yes, they may improve the competitive standing of a US collegiate team. Is that what you want? What if your daughter wanted to play BB at the collegiate level, and was below the quality of a foreign player? What would you say then?
