They can stand behind in the "general area" and on the green, but must move
in both cases before the player begins taking his stance. On the green, if the caddie doesn't move in time, the player can remark and rectify the situation. This isn't so anywhere else. It doesn't make much sense to me, but I've only been officiating for 25 years.
