Missed mentioning Abbott and Ches. I think we have a better team than


last year. As much as I hate to say it, but Knight and Cody were such liabilities that I'd be astonished if we can't find more consistent bats among the first and second years than last year.

And, of course, Richardson had his moments but he wasn't consistent and Novak couldn't buy a hit with RISP.

I only see the loss of Weber's bat being meaningful as Jake was hurt as you mentioned.

Now, as for pitching....losing Lynch and Casey will hurt. I think your comments about the other pitchers is dead on. Here's to a health Sperling. A Vasil that comes as advertised. And, as you mention, either McGarry and/or Whitten. Plus, usually, a first year can give some meaningful innings. I'm hoping Donahue can give crucial innings during his fourth year. He's from my wife's hometown so I root for him.
