JW is interesting. His best meet ever was at age 15, Winter Juniors 2016

Where he was 20.10/43.52/1:33.7 (the 100 and 200 were *preposterous* swims for a 15 year old).

Flash forward to 2019 and his career bests are 20.08/43.52/1:33.7. He's dropped 0.02 in the 50 in the years since, and not come that close in the 100 or 200. That's pretty unusual. His LCM swimming has shown a more "normal" linear progression with age, however (1:50/3:58 is really strong).

His 500 has been where the gains have been (30 seconds over a couple years), as it would appear he's adopted more of a distance focus at the expense of speed. Normally 15-17 yr olds don't have to make a trade off. I have no clue what he could do in college under a new coach, but the talent is clearly there to be a major player at the ACC level right away.
