No sugar coating it, we were awful today. But it’s just 1 game. We’re 0-1

Glass half full is:

We didn’t play bad defense, per se. We didn’t play defense at all. It won’t look like that again. To some extent there’s nothing to evaluate because nobody showed up to play.

Stover played well, yes, but to no small extent our shooters placed the ball exceptionally well right into his mesh.

Rode had a wrong side of the bed wake-up day. Like the defense, he literally wasn’t even there today. He’s better than that & should know it. I hope the coaches’ move to hang him out didn’t rattle him too much. He’s still a young keeper.

Maybe we can be like Duke & look wretched enough to be humble early in the season. And also hopefully play mad to show we’re better than this.

Yes, Lars & Co. don’t look real good after today, but all of that can change with some better execution. Hop looked like a high school JV team today. I don’t think it’s a great Hop team, but no way are they that bad. Duke & Cuse looked bad this week. UNC was pretty underwhelming. It’s early Feb. I wouldn’t carve any tombstones yet.
