Better rule change for 'pace' would be 3-pitch warm up for 2nd+ reliever...
in the same inning. Let the managers continue to 'duel strategically', so as to not fundamentally change the strategy of baseball, but the relief pitchers get significantly less time on the mound to 'warm up', especially in the same inning. The vast majority of the 'warm up' would occur in the bull pen, and the 3 pitches allow the relief pitcher to adjust to the conditions of the mound.
Torn on the DH in NL. I hated it when I was younger, but I now appreciate the additional strategies required to be successful in the NL. Lots more substitution than in the AL. Interesting that the MLB union does not consider the DH a job killer. Comparing the scorecards of the games, there are many more players used in each game on average of NL game vs. AL game. I would not be surprised if DH is instituted in both leagues, then there will be a request for a roster reduction coming soon thereafter--you don't need 3-4 substitutes in the AL due to the DH. I believe the only reason that the roster reduction has not already been requested in the AL is due to the massive impact in the NL.
GO HOOS!!! I hope that the whistler can't make it to the game in AZ. :)
