Agree VT. Rule of thumb is, if you don’t hear people in crowd yelling she’s leaving early, then they are most likely leaving late.

I’m a big proponent of the rocker step vs the back foot on the bag. With the back foot on the bag your first movement is off the bag.

The other key is not turning your hips like a baseball lead. Too many times you see players have to restart on a wild pitch or ball in dirt due to a premature turning of the hips.

At 2B leads should be much bigger, SS and 3B are the runners concern. If a back pick happens with 2B that is on the 3B coach if 3rd is unoccupied or 1B coach if there’s a runner on 3rd.
