Watching Duke/Denver, agree that ride tactics are a new key determinant.

1. Choosing to pull your attack back to midfield line while you sub mids and cover man to man against opponent's "O" mids as they enter game thus forcing opponent to burn 20 seconds (effectively creating a 60 sec shot clock).
2. Choosing to put your attack man to man on opponent's poles while ignoring the goalie. You sub your mids and cover tight "man to man" against opponent's "O" mids as they enter game. This forces goalie abandon the goal area to be a moving part of the clear. 20 sec rule and man to man shut offs force goalie to cross midfield by 20 sec. and make risky pass with a sub-optimal goalie stick.
With the shot clock resetting for a full 80 sec on a rebound, there will be a premium placed on preventing rebounds. Traditionally, goalies have attempted to accomplish this by loosening their pockets (the proverbial "Glad Trash Bag" pockets vs the "Tennis Racket/Trampoline" string jobs that facilitate crisp, longer range outlets). Potentially, this could make accurate longer distance, (all while on the move, under pressure) passes far more risky.
Merely Monday afternoon, absent-minded musings while waiting for 4PM.
