Agree and circumstances often dictate opportunities and success

I think its safe to say had Cormier not been injured Moore would have played midfield. That being the case, I have serious questions as to whether he would have put up anywhere near the numbers he did at attack (even if you adjusted them for the position change). For my money, he was the team's best player with Conrad being most valuable. Herring complimented the big 5 (as the media like to call them) perfectly- good feeder, high lax IQ, and high percentage shooter who rarely turned the ball over...alot of which surely came from being a veteran. As I see it, there are two first line midfield spots open for 2020 and it is likely at least 2 attackmen (Shelly & Cormier) will have the opportunity to take advantage of them and hopefully have something even remotely approaching the success of Moore in his transition from middie to attack. While neither of those guys has stepped on the field for UVA, I have seen no one else on the current UVA roster who I would say is a lock as a first line middie with Aitken. Hopefully we will see Quinn, Conner, Simmons, Peele, Murray, Garno, Brenfleck etc all hungry to distinguish themselves when the fall roles around.
