Unfortunately Mothers went downhill after Katrina

and is a shell of its once glorious self. To me, it isn't even worth a stop with so many better places to get great Cajun (and other) food in New Orleans. It is a shame, as it is still a historical landmark in my book, but for those who have been there pre-Katrina, the food is currently a massive disappointment. To be fair, it has been a good 5 or 6 years since I last re-checked it, but after so many years of being mediocre, I can't imagine a sudden turnaround.
