I think it was partly a feedback loop of getting good returns from playing

...Diakite. Salt was a bad matchup on Laster. Heck, even doing the hedge on Laster was not working. Laster was a pretty cerebral kid. He was able to slip that screen if you remember bc he knew our tendency. I actually think the key thing there was to just let Diakite play and not worry as much about the scheme.

Diakite got out of his head and just played.

Salt, and Zay, and Dev were the best at doing exactly what Tony wanted. But what won us our championship was Tony letting the more instinctive guy (Ty) and the “I’m not gonna run exactly what you want but I’ll make an athletic play, and then I’ll come over and give you a hug” guy more run of the team.

Tony definitely adapted in this run. I think he really did a masterful job during the tourney run. (Off topic, but the best thing was the scouting).
