I don't think you are looking at this correctly. You appear to be

assuming that all things have been equal thru the years. The charge that Tony would not open up the offense with more talent was proven flat wrong. That offensive talent was simply not available until this year. The loss to Syracuse that kept us out of the F4 proves it. Our #1 scorer went colder than an ice cube and we collapsed down the stretch. We have 3 players from the same team in the NBA for the 1st time ever I believe. This team would have lit it up if we had a monster rebounder. Terry Holland carried the same rep as Tony and we all know what happened with Ralph. Even a loaded All American team that Dean Smith had was afraid to play straight up against them because we would run them off the floor. Your talent should dictate your style of play, not your preference for a style.
