We have had offensive talent that has been neglected for defensive talent

See Mike Tobey, for example. The fact of the matter is, TB’s wise decision to partially move away from the blocker mover marginalized the role that Jack Salt was best at, a screener, and the continuity ball screen offense favored a player like MD who could roll to the basket as an offensive threat. If I am flat wrong, as you say, why didn’t MD start all year? Can you explain why TB waited until the Tournament to start MD over Salt? Seems like an odd time to go off the same script we had been using for the last four years other than, well, that plan had failed us in multiple NCAA Tournaments previously. I think Tony finally learned that defense cannot always carry the day by itself. His coaching this year in the Tournament was off the chart, even by his own high standards.
