I'm comfortable with Diakite shooting rhythm 3's this year...

This team will need Diakite's defending and will need rebounding, especially when Key is not on the floor. But I hope that folks have some patience with him shooting open, rhythm 3's (same for Kihei). I think that Diakite won't be shooting 40% from 3 but we don't have Ty, Kyle, and Dre anymore so someone needs to shoot some of those 3's. His form and FT% make me think that he can at least hit over 30% when open and shooting in rhythm. I just hope he doesn't fall in love with contested 3's and midrange jumpers because he feels pressure to be a scorer this year.

I'm even ok with him turning the ball over a bit when trying to attack the basket because it will help having him as a threat to drive to the rim and either score or draw fouls. Right now Key is the main threat to do that, although I think Huff has a little bit of ability there.

I'd be very comfortable if Diakite ended up with the same volume and type of 3pt shots that Hunter had last year (~2.8 3PTA per game). His 3PT% won't be quite as high as Hunter's but DeAndre had a very keen ability to take the open 3PT shots but to not force it up if it wasn't there. That approach and the high 3PT% ultimately showed very favorably for Hunter as an elite prospect. If Diakite can follow the same path and just take what's given to him from deep, I think that he has the ability to shoot at a respectable percentage out there.

It's going to be exciting to see how all of these pieces fit together.
