The general gaming media seem to laugh at people who still buy physical

game discs. About a month ago a story broke that there was a game that was being deleted from all of the digital storefronts, and that if you bought it, you better go download it, because it won't even be available to download for those who bought it.

Some of the digital only proponents actually started questioning themselves after that.

Then you have Google Stadia, which is a game streaming service that you will have to pay a subscription fee for if you want the best quality, and you still have to buy the games. There's no hardware, so there is no downloading the games. If Google Stadia shuts down, then you lose the games you bought, unless the game publishers somehow figure a way to let you transfer them to some other platform.

A lot of the game media are all in on it and saying "it's backed by Google, so it won't be in danger of shutting down". If you ignore Google's penchant for shutting down their services left and right: Google+, Youtube Gaming, Google Hangouts, Google Fiber
