Always surprised to hear of recent grads who struggle to find jobs

I recall we had tons of support while still in school to find internships, establish connections with employers, and tons of career support. Companies came to campus to recruit, usually offering good management training or other special fast-track programs.

Our 2 nephews both got master's degrees in good growth industries. One was the party boy, did no internships or summer jobs, did not find a job by graduation. Someone in his family had to help him find a job via friend of a friend. Compare that to the other nephew who worked internships, made employer connections and went to the career fair events. He was hired into a great management training program and his career is doing great.

If he is interested I hear the packaging industry is good - lots of new technologies being developed and deployed. Most of that is chemical based in terms of the compounds, etc.
