I'm going to post my response to one of last night's posts about this

Because it's buried on like page 4 or 5 by now

We know nothing about his situation at Houston other than what we see on TV or read online.

Maybe he is a quitting douchebag. Maybe there is more to it.

But if he does end up actually transferring, someone is going to get an incredibly gifted player. As a junior he went for 3000/674 passing/rushing with 36 TDs and 6 INTs.

Remember, this kid was recruited by an entirely different staff. In fact, Holgersen was his THIRD head coach in 4 years! Herman recruited him and had him in 2016. Asked him to play some WR for him, which he did. For 2 seasons (before transitioning to QB his 2nd year). Herman bolts for UT later that season. Applewhite takes over. Major is his coach for the next 2 seasons then was fired. Holgersen then takes over. That's 3 coaches in 4 years he dealt with.

I tend to give a guy the benefit of the doubt when there's a coaching change. How about TWO changes resulting in 3 HCs while you're there? Had he left UH after the 1st or 2nd coaching change (either one!), nobody blinks an eye. But he is getting roasted for trying to stick it out. Seems hypocritical unless people know more than what's publicly available.

As a local Texas resident, I watched the guy play quite a few times the last few years. I see a guy that plays his ass off and is engaged in the game. Most likely he doesn't end up here (early speculation leads him to Arkansas to meet up with Kendal Briles, but that place is not going to be a winning program anytime soon), but wherever he goes, I bet he succeeds and is seen again in a positive light like he was 2, 3 and 4 seasons ago (his first 3 years at Houston).

Through all of this, he has kept his mouth pretty much shut. If he does end up transferring, maybe we hear more. Or maybe he thanks the staff for the opportunity and moves on, keeping whatever was between him and the staff private.

He's what, like a 22 or 23 year old kid? I see a ton of hate on this board about him - we don't know him at all. Maybe he's a total ass. Maybe not. But unless something comes out that proves he is an ass, I'm going to enjoy watching him play wherever he goes (unless it's VA Tech). I'll root for him like I would any other kid. He's a 5'11 QB. Chances are, he's not an NFL QB. So he's trying to make the most of his college career. If by off chance he does make it to the NFL, I'll be happy for him.
