You want 'lost' 70s rock bands? Check this out: Glass Harp

Cleveland, Ohio legends. Saw them in Richmond at the String Factory (Laurel and Broad) long ago - they were billed as Pete Townshend's favorite opening act. Phil Keaggy remains one of the very greatest rock guitarists ever - I stole as much as I could from him, haha. But you've probably never heard of him because he's been on the Christian rock/folk/whatever circuit since probably 1973 - and he doesn't have an FM friendly voice along with his choice of material. Had a chance to work with him on a secular guitar clinic 20 years ago - great guy, amazing amazing player. Worth a trip to your local mega-church to see him if you ever have a chance. You can skip to about 3:00 on the linked video from 1972 (!) and not really miss anything. For all you gearheads, he played a Les Paul through a Twin Reverb with EV SROs turned most of the way up for one of the most killer sounds I've ever heard. Loud? Who cares? Also for guitarheads: he can do volume control swells pretty much as fast as I can play regularly - some of that on this video. Whew.
