I think the 3 point % decline is largely because he doesn’t shoot from deep


nearly as well off the dribble as he does spotting up. (Seems to be a significantly bigger disparity than most guards in this respect) Hopefully having another creator in Oladipo back will allow him a significantly higher percentage of catch and shoot opportunities.

I think the overall decline in shooting percentage is partially due to no Green Freak but also largely due to having so many responsibilities as the primary ballhandler. He seems tired far more often, and Brogdon’s shot more than most players is negatively impacted by leg weariness (maybe because of its already low trajectory there is no room for error). In college he tended to shoot much worse in games in close succession (UNC in ACCT final, Cuse in Elite 8) and that has carrried over to the NBA on the second game of a back to back, along with his added responsibilities as a primary ball handler.

All this said, his percentages are perfectly acceptable for someone with his usage and I think he’ll improve on them.
