Not sure I follow your point. UVA’s major investment in non-revenue sports

is less than 20 years old. We didn’t fully fund max scholarships in all sports until ‘02. With a growing number of schools possessing athletic budgets larger than UVA’s by more than $100M, over the next decade it is going to be more difficult to keep our best coaches and match their facilities/resources. ACC’s TV deal is locked in until 2036. Where’s the new revenue stream for UVA coming from to compete financially unless football is elevated? ADs are no different than coaches. Most will go to where they can earn the most and have access to the best resources.
