Question on last play

Of Louisville game. .3 seconds left, we have the ball, only way for Louisville to score is with a tip-in, otherwise, not enough time to set and shoot. Realistically the only way for Louisville to get a tip in is on a turn over from a 5 second call or a foul. No player was even guarding the player throwing the ball in...so there can’t be a deflection that miraculously goes in. Question: Why not just roll the ball on to the court, or, slow and low bounce it in. If a Louisville player picks it up not enough time to shoot, If Virginia picks it up...clock is out. Just as long as the ball is touched before it goes to the other end or out of
bounds on the side....no risk of 5 second violation, or, a turn-over foul.
