Frankly, I think providing another year for Spring sports ...

needs to be re-thought. The financial impact on already gigantic sports budgets at many colleges just can't take unnecessary burdens, and that's exactly what this is.

Take baseball for example: Baseball players are eligible for MLB draft as juniors...this would just make them eligible as sophomores? Not sure that's good for anybody, plus they bump up against the incoming class, which is certainly not good for the frosh.

The loss of a season is clearly a sad thing, but the personal impact on players, IMHO, is quite overstated and not worth all the complications it presents.
