Here is the NCAA.com announcement (link)

They did not list ANY sports by name as definitely being "spring sports" and the newspaper stories that keep coming up in search engines are the same.

I am trying to address a specific rumor that came out of NCAA meetings almost a month ago: that tennis and golf athletes got to play all fall, therefore they had played most of their academic years and would not be eligible.

This short paragraph in the NCAA story is interesting:

"Winter sports were not included in the decision. Council members declined to extend eligibility for student-athletes in sports where all or much of their regular seasons were completed."

"All or much of their regular seasons" means exactly what? If it only refers to winter sports, it is redundant or poorly phrased.

I saw one newspaper that went through online rosters for the local university and added up how many seniors there were, including golf and tennis, but that does not mean they were doing the right thing.

So, if anyone has a more helpful reply than "Google it" I would like to see it.
