Some of it you cant blame corporations though

United isn't going to have 100,000 pilots and 700 planes active if the market isn't there for the next two years. They will need to reduce their employees to match the market. l also expect that corporations are going to get used to the internet/zoom etc and not hire back employees.

For example, Macy's is going to furlough 90-100% of its workers now with the store shutdown. When things go back to normal, they may not go back and open up all the stores - lets say they only open 75% of their stores when we get over the virus - that automatically means 20-25% of their staff isn't coming back. Maybe their model changes if the website is doing well and they can hire some back and open more warehouses/distribution centers.....
