is such a god awful idea.
There's going to need to be a back end recovery plan, and it can't just be in the form of handed out money. People need things to do... otherwise they revolt.
My first project would be to ressurect the REA, except make it the RIA (Rural Internet Administration). Plenty of work to do running fiber and equipment out to rural areas to catch them up.
My second one would be to start building state of the art manufacturing centers for technology, medical supplies, and basic materials that would continue to be government subsidized until those industries took hold. Time to bring our manufacturing home.
