Former Cavaliers to Hold Live Watch Party for Broadcast of 2015 CWS final

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The deciding game of the 2015 College World Series between Virginia and Vanderbilt is set to air on Monday night (May 11) at 8 p.m. live on ACC Network. Former UVA players, current coaches along with other guests will participate in a live watch party that will be broadcast on the Virginia Cavaliers Facebook page.

Virginia’s historic run to its first National Championship culminated in a winner-take-all game three on the final day of the 2015 college baseball season. After dropping the first game, the Cavaliers leveled the series with a 3-0 shutout in game two setting up a rematch with defending champion Vanderbilt in the series finale. The Cavaliers battled back from a 2-0 first-inning deficit with four unanswered runs and rode outstanding pitching efforts from Brandon Waddell and Nathan Kirby to lock up a 4-2 victory and sealed the first National Championship by an ACC school since 1955.

Players scheduled to participate in the watch party include: Ernie Clement, Kevin Doherty, Robbie Coman, Connor Jones, Nathan Kirby, Josh Sborz, Pavin Smith, Thomas Woodruff and more. The current Cavalier coaching staff will also take part in the event along with several other special guests.

Fans can view the Facebook Live stream starting Monday at 8 p.m. on www.facebook.com/VirginiaCavaliers.

The broadcast of game three will be preceded on ACC Network by the documentary “1186 to Omaha”, chronicling Virginia’s run to the 2015 National Championship, at 7 p.m.

Fans who do not currently receive the ACC Network through their cable or satellite provider can take advantage of a limited-time free trial offer through YouTubeTV to view Monday’s game.
