It appears near certain that MLB will start playing games about July 1

without fans initially and maybe for the whole season in a shortened season of about 80 games. plus a 14 team playoff with expanded rosters and team divisions playing on a regional basis to reduce travel. Games will be played at regular MLB ball parks. This is today's media reporting. Could be announced tomorrow. One sticking point may be how much less the players will get paid. I think players will accept taking their guaranteed salaries prorated based on number of games, but with no further downward adjustment based on no fans. Owners want adjustment downward for loss of fans. Someone will get their way and it is more likely to be the owners.
