I found it very interesting and shared it with others in higher ed...

last week. I work at the University and while I don't buy into each of his predictions, there's no escaping the truth that the post-COVID higher ed world will be permanently altered in many ways. It reminds me of how the big firm legal practice model fundamentally changed after the 2008-09 recession. It's also inescapable that some schools will not survive the combination of this and the looming mid-2020s enrollment fall-off. He's right that these closures won't happen immediately, but there will be casualties in the coming two-to-four years. I do believe residential education will continue to exist (and thrive) 10 years out. I hope he's wrong in predicting it will be reserved to only the highest net-worth families.
