When LT played, Bethel and Hampton were the powerhouse teams in the state -


they both won 2 state titles from 74-77 playing Lafayette each year in the Peninsula District. Maryland and UNC were primary recruiters in the area from what I remember growing up during that time. Taylor played with Ron Springs who went to Community College and then Ohio State and Mel Gray went to Purdue. That's 3 stud NFL players all on the same high school team.
